Brent Smith joined San Antonio Commercial Advisors in August of 2011 as Managing Director. Brent’s local office responsibilities include investment sales, operational leadership of the firm, broker development, and new business development. Nationally, Brent leads the Cushman & Wakefield Alliance Private Investment Sales Committee and serves on the Cushman & Wakefield Alliance Executive Committee.
From 2003 to 2011, Brent worked at Marcus & Millichap, most recently as National Director of the National Hospitality Group and Regional Manager of the Houston and Louisiana region. During his tenure as a manager, he led the sales and marketing efforts for over $1.5 billion in investment sales transactions. As an agent at Marcus & Millichap, Brent was responsible for opening the firm’s San Antonio office and establishing the firm’s presence in South Texas.
Recognized as a skilled agent and mentor, Brent received the firm’s National Achievement Award in his second year in brokerage and trained and mentored some of the top agents at Marcus & Millichap, including a recipient of the firm’s national Rookie of the Year award.
Before entering commercial real estate, Brent spent eight years in technology and marketing. He co-founded Yehti Corp., a business intelligence and email marketing firm, whose primary product, Message Effect, was acquired by Acxiom (Nasdaq: ACXM). From 1996 to 2000, Brent worked at Dell Computer as product marketing manager for Dell’s then $4.5 billion Dimension product line.
Brent combines his commitment to innovation with his deep technical background and expansive transactional experience in order to provide the firm and its clients with leading-edge capabilities in research, valuation, transaction services and capital markets.
Brent attended the University of Texas at Austin on a National Merit Scholarship and received a BBA in finance and an MBA.
